The bio

Short bio

Jordan Pollock is a senior UX researcher with more than eight years of mixed-methods research behind roadmaps for feeds, creative asset quality, internal tools, warehouse robotics, trust and safety, and ecommerce logistics. At Netflix, he led research on how members judge the quality of title artwork, clips and trailers, and synopses, and helped shape the content in Netflix’s vertical video feed. Before that, he worked on account safety and scam prevention at Instagram and on fulfillment and warehouse robotics at Shopify. He holds an M.A.Sc. in Human-Computer Interaction from Carleton University and a B.A.Sc. in Cognitive Science from McGill University.

Long bio

Jordan Pollock is a senior UX researcher based in San Francisco who studies how people decide what to watch, read and trust. From 2023 to 2026 he was a senior researcher on Netflix’s Studio Insights team, where he owned the research on how members judge the quality of title artwork, clips and trailers, and synopses. Working with creatives, product and data science, he helped define what “quality” means to members and fed those findings to the teams building AI tools that automate asset creation. He also helped shape the content in Netflix’s vertical video feed and built interactive dashboards that gave internal tool teams a baseline for annual roadmapping.

Before Netflix, Jordan set research strategy for account access and scam prevention on Instagram’s Well-being team at Meta. He spent four years at Shopify, first as the primary researcher on Shopify Fulfillment Network as it grew from zero to 1,000 merchants, then as lead researcher at 6 River Systems, the warehouse robotics company Shopify acquired. He holds an M.A.Sc. in Human-Computer Interaction from Carleton University and a first-class honors B.A.Sc. in Cognitive Science from McGill University, has published in HCI and perception research, and recently designed and built Plott, a journaling app, by directing AI coding tools.
